Death of the Guru
The term guru has meant many things over the ages. Traditionally guru referred to a religious or spiritual teacher who had deep knowledge that could lead to enlightenment, as well as a direct experience of Divine vision it also indicated one who imparts initiation. However, times have changed. Is there room or need in the modern world for the Guru?
With us this hour consider the roll of a guru in the modern world and Joining us all the way from India is Andrew Cohen. Andrew is a spiritual teacher, cultural visionary, and founder of the global non-profit EnlightenNext and its award-winning publication EnlightenNext magazine. After the collapse of EnlightenNext in 2013, Andrew took several years off from public teaching. In 2020, he launched Manifest Nirvana, a sanctuary for deep transformation. Andrew is the author of several books including “When Shadow Meets the Bodhisattva - The Challenging Transformation of a Modern Guru” and “Evolutionary Enlightenment.”
