 The concept of UFOs has captured the fancy of many for years. Stories abound of alien abductions and ET sightings. Many eagerly await the great disclosure where governments will purportedly admit to hiding the truth of UFO visits to our planet. Yet, to this day, there is no proof positive that ETs have been here or even exist.

With us this hour to delve into the ever deepening mystery of UFOs is David Halperin, the author of “Intimate Alien: The Hidden Story of the UFO.” David was a teen UFOlogist who grew up to become a professor of religious studies at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. He had a special interest in religious traditions of heavenly ascensions and otherworldly journeys. While David no longer believes in UFOs, they’ve never ceased to cast their spell over him. The goal of David’s research is to understand what that spell has been for him and what it remains for millions of others. His position in a nutshell: UFOs are a myth; myths are real.
