Wisdom: Aging as a Spiritual Practice
In ancient times, and still among many indigenous peoples, the elders were a revered source of wisdom. Yet, the preparation to fulfill this roll requires a process of conscious aging that has virtually been lost. With us this hour to explore the evolutionary advantages of conscious aging is Dr. Connie Zweig. Connie is a retired therapist, co-author of Meeting the Shadow and Romancing the Shadow, author of Meeting the Shadow of Spirituality and a novel, A Moth to the Flame: The Life of Sufi Poet Rumi. Her new book, The Inner Work of Age: Shifting from Role to Soul, extends shadow-work into late life and teaches aging as a spiritual practice.
