Evolving Through Trauma, Shock and the Climate Crisis

Evolving Through Trauma, Shock and the Climate Crisis

~ Gwilda Wiyaka ~

An unprecedented number of us have faced shock and trauma in recent times. Between the pandemic and resulting deaths, restrictions and lockdowns, social and political unrest, and the apparent effects of climate change, it’s no wonder we are reeling. Although what we’re being confronted with externally may be something we can do little about, there is much we can do about our interior landscape.

What is the neurological impact of shock and trauma? How can we mitigate its negative effects? Can we find the resilience to evolve through these trying times? How can we regain our stability in order to take positive action? Can traumatic events be used to aid our evolution?

With us this hour to help us better understand shock and trauma, its long lasting impact and how to deal with it, is Dr. Stephanie Mines. Dr. Mines is the author of five books that reflect over three decades of research as a neuroscientist. She has investigated shock and trauma as a survivor, a professional, a clinical researcher, and healthcare provider. Her nonprofit, The TARA Approach, is instrumental in the systemic change she promotes as a Sustainable Health paradigm. Dr. Mines also developed Climate Change & Consciousness to facilitate inner transformation for grounded climate action.
