As populations grow, war rages, cultures clash and
basic human rights fall by the wayside, it is difficult to ignore the fact that
the old governing methods are not working.
Most of us agree that if we are to evolve as
individuals and as cultures, our governments need to evolve as well. What we
don’t agree upon is exactly how that will look.
Many say governments have gotten too large and unwieldy,
resulting in corruption – that we need to be ruled by smaller governing bodies.
In the case of the United States, this would involve returning the majority of
power back to individual states.
Others say that we need overlording, agreed upon rules
which apply not only to individual countries, but the world.
What are the pros and cons of these options? How can
we resolve the monumental problems we face? How can we assure human rights
without violating the rights of the individual?
With us this hour to delve into this pressing issue is
