Lockdown Madness: When All Distractions Fail

Lockdown Madness: When All Distractions Fail
~ Gwilda Wiyaka ~
COVID-19 and the resulting lockdown was a real eye-opener for many of us. Before being denied many of the things we take for granted, few recognized how much of our ability to cope relies on simple day to day distractions. Being confined to our homes and stewing in our own juices brought to light just how uncomfortable and irritable we can become without these diversions.

As a result, drug overdoses have dramatically increased, as has domestic violence. Depression is epic. The violence, rioting, looting and vandalism may also be related to the shutdown and the resulting sense of deprivation.
With many states breaking daily records of COVID-19 cases and the resulting deaths, and over 150 prominent experts asking leaders for a second shut down, we may now be faced with a repeat performance.

What we desperately need are some evolutionary tools to help us cope with isolation, its lasting effects and the possibility we may be faced with it again.

With us this hour to discuss the long-term impact of COVID-19 lock down and how to manage another is Faust] A. Ruggiero. Faust’s professional career spans almost 40 years. It is diversified and compelling, as it has consistently established new and exciting cutting-edge counseling programs in the pursuit of professional excellence and personal life enhancement. He is a published research author, clinical trainer, and therapist who has worked in settings that include clinics for deaf children, prisons, nursing homes, substance abuse centers, and inpatient facilities. As the President of the Community Psychological Center in Bangor, Pennsylvania, he developed the Process Way of Life counseling program, presented in a formal text in “The Fix Yourself Handbook.”

Superpowers, Collective Consciousness and Evolution

Superpowers, Collective Consciousness and Evolution
~ Gwilda Wiyaka ~
It is difficult to look at the current global condition and not sink into despair. Between overpopulation, the resulting pollution, dwindling resources, COVID-19 protests and riots, we are facing massive problems. There would appear to be no way out.

What if this perceived upheaval is instead the stage before unity, evolution and enlightenment? What if each person alive today (and possibly those that are not) has the unique opportunity to participate in an emergence of collective consciousness? What if we are coming into a time of, where solutions to this seemingly impossible situation are easily found?

With us this hour, to delve into the topic of Super Powers and Collective Consciousness as they relate to evolution, is Dean Radin. Dean is the Chief Scientist at the Institute of Noetic Sciences, and Associated Distinguished Professor of Integral and Transpersonal Psychology at the California Institute of Integral Studies. He earned an MS in electrical engineering and a PhD in psychology from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign. Before joining the research staff at IONS, he held appointments at AT&T Bell Labs, Princeton University, University of Edinburgh, and SRI International. He is author or coauthor of hundreds of technical and popular articles, four dozen book chapters, and four popular books: “The Conscious Universe,” “Entangled Minds,” “Supernormal,” and “Real Magic.”

Thriving and Surviving COVID-19

Thriving and Surviving COVID-19
~ Gwilda Wiyaka ~

As the host of MISSION: EVOLUTION Radio Show, in response to the pandemic, I have been interviewing numerous doctors and scientists to stay abreast of the latest information about COVID-19. Last week I spoke with a gentleman that predicted the pandemic, Dr. Dennis Carroll.
Dr. Carroll is a biomedical research scientist who has served as the Director of the U.S. Agency for International Development’s Emerging Threats Division. During out interview, Dr. Carroll stated there are indications that having COVID-19 and surviving does not necessarily protect one from catching it again. This brings up questions as to whether any vaccine we may develop will offer long term immunity.

Rather than sit on our hands and wait for traditional methodologies to come up with a prevention or cure for COVID-19, we clearly need some evolutionary tools to protect ourselves and, if infected, give us a better chance of survival.

With us this, the first hour of a two hour special on Surviving COVID-19 is a gentleman we have had the pleasure of having on the show before Dr. David Hanscom. He not only survived COVID-19 but has been actively seeking new solutions to the pandemic.

Dr. Hanscom is an Orthopedic surgeon, the author of “DO YOU REALLY NEED SPINE SURGERY?” and of “Back in Control: A Surgeon’s Roadmap Out of Chronic Pain.” A survivor of COVID-19 himself, Dr. Hanscom has been working with about 20 other professionals researching alternative approaches. They are looking at inflammation and chronic disease through the lens of Polyvagal Theory. Together they have come up with some new possibilities for addressing the COVID-19 pandemic.
